NAMITA SOPAL

Head of National Advertising Strategy

Great thinking is not random. Nor does creativity arrive staring wistfully out a window. The best ideas, the ones that have impact and legacy are shaped by insights, discipline, and above all, an attitude that views limitations as the spring board – the ‘beautiful constraint’.

This is the domain of Namita Sopal (Nams) one of the most innovative strategic thinkers in our industry, a leader who creates the spark before the idea, and sometimes both. Key to her success is an ability to un-complicate a brief and transform it into a compelling and articulate proposition fuelled by insight, backed by facts, shaped by experience.

A true master of her craft, she combines strategic smarts and engaging storytelling, curiosity with creativity. This translates into a constant focus to find new ways to evolve the way we talk to clients, agencies and partners, and ultimately deliver a meaningful solution – a true value exchange for all stakeholders.

A tenacious leader, Nams has a contagious energy and positivity, an empathy that breaks down barriers, and an openness that motivates and galvanises her team, and just about every team at Paramount.
Whether its your first meeting with Nams or your third flat white, her passion for people, for collaboration and finding a space for every voice to be heard is truly inspiring.

Nams is a Londoner who made Australia home over 8 years ago, the place where she met her (English) husband and had her (Australian) son! A recent marathon runner and self-proclaimed couch potato, Nams started her career in the world of media agencies, with more than a decade in senior roles at leading agencies in the UK and Australia, including Carat, Storylab Sydney and Wavemaker, winning a number of industry accolades as well as personally being awarded Campaign Asia Women to Watch.
