Network 10 is thrilled to reveal that seasoned 10 News First Queensland sports journalist and producer, Veronica Eggleton, has scored the role of Sport Presenter for the state’s 5pm bulletin.
Launching on the desk this Monday, Veronica’s appointment makes way for an all-female presenting team, featuring a powerhouse trio of leading journalists. This news trifecta will bring together Sharyn Ghidella as News Presenter, Veronica Eggleton as Sport Presenter, and Liz Cantor as Weather Presenter, backed by an established team of on ground reporters.
This historic moment for Channel 10 is more than just a hat trick for women in media. With this winning line-up, we’re set to bring Queensland a fresh, dynamic news experience with the breaking stories viewers want and need.
Veronica has been MVP of 10’s sports coverage for nearly a decade. With career highlights that include covering eight State of Origin series, NRL Grand Finals, and the 2023 Women’s World Cup, Veronica is set to bring her A-game to the desk thanks to her deep sports knowledge and passion.
Veronica said: “After coming ‘off the bench’ to present for much of my career, I’m excited to be part of the starting side and Sharyn and Liz are a powerhouse line-up to join.”
