The voice of rugby speaks

September 19, 2019

It’s not long now until the sporting world descends on the land of the rising sun for the Rugby World Cup 2019 and 10 has every touch, tackle and try from the biggest games of the tournament.

It is the international sporting event of 2019, with 20 countries competing over 43 days – in a timezone that is perfect for Aussie fans.

Spearheading the coverage is “The Voice of Rugby”, Gordon Bray AM, along with former World Cup champion Matt Burke, Wallaby Nick Phipps and 10 sports presenters Scott Mackinnon and Roz Kelly.

Network 10’s head of sport Matt White says: “We are proud of our Rugby history at 10 Sport and can’t wait to add another chapter with our coverage of the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

“Gordon Bray brings experience and knowledge that is unmatched in the game. Matt Burke has been there and done that. Burkey will provide insights that only a World Cup-winning Wallaby can.

“Network 10 will be on the ground in Japan for the whole tournament, with host Scott Mackinnon and Sports Tonight’s Roz Kelly reporting all the news, colour and fun of the Cup across all of our platforms. We can’t wait! It’s time to get behind the Wallabies.”

The Rugby World Cup 2019 kicks off in Japan on Friday 20 September and runs until Saturday 2 November.

We will be broadcasting 10 of the best games from the tournament including every Wallabies game right up to and including the final (which we will make) – live and free on 10 and 10 Play.
