Talking Rugby With Matt Burke.

September 3, 2019

Have you ever dreamed of being gently lulled to sleep by the sultry tones of the man, the myth, the Wallabies legend that is Matt Burke as he dissects every play, every lineout and every scrum of the Rugby World Cup? Well, ruck no. But if you just bloody love Rugby…then the 10 Sports team has delivered the goods in its first ever podcast.

In a new 10 Speaks podcast released today, Talking Rugby With Matt Burke, is a weekly series delving in to all things rugby. Burkey will give a unique insight into the players mindset during the Rugby World Cup, the way only a Rugby World Cup winning Wallaby can. And being the Wallabies cult hero that he is, Burkey has a direct line to some of the biggest names in the game, so he’s got them lined-up too.

As we build up to the Rugby World Cup, Burkey will be talking to a few legends of the game that know a thing or two about how to win on the world stage. First off the bench is Wallabies legend, David Campese. In later episodes, Nick Farr-Jones and John Eales also get a call up with more big names to come.

Then as the Rugby World Cup kicks off on September 20 in Japan, Burkey, proving he has the best connections in town, has lined up exclusive chats with current players and coaching staff to get the inside word straight from their Japanese clubhouse.

Matt Burke said: “I remember as a player not only the intensity of a Rugby World Cup, but the fantastic memories that come from it and I wanted to share some of those memories from my playing days. Not only do we talk World Cup history with some of the greats of the game, but we plan to also have some very candid conversations within the current playing group at this year’s Rugby World Cup.

“It’s fantastic to share these insights with Rugby fans all over Australia. It’s fun, light hearted and we don’t take ourselves too seriously. I hope people enjoy it for what it is, Talking Rugby.”

Talking Rugby With Matt Burke is available from today on Acast, Apple Podcasts and Spotify. New episodes will be released weekly on a Wednesday right up until the Rugby World Cup final.

Talking Rugby With Matt Burke joins the 10 Speaks portfolio of podcasts alongside recently launched Short Black With Sandra Sully fortnightly series produced and presented by Sandra Sully who talks candidly to intriguing and inspiring women who have something interesting to say, about what really matters, The Reality Bite: Cocktails and Roses weekly Bachelor podcast hosted by Georgia Love and Shura Tuft and lifestyle offering Hammer it Home fronted by The Living Room’s Barry Du Bois.
