There are many hard working staff making Paramount+ the amazing streaming service that it is. One of those is Creative Operations Manager, Amy Micallef.
We caught up with Amy to talk about what it was like launching Paramount+ and her highlights from its first year.
What is your role at Paramount+ and what does it entail?
I’m the Creative Operations Manager within the P+ marketing team. My job is to work with the marketing team, our producers and designers to make sure all the creative assets are briefed, created, and delivered on time to reflect the brand in the best possible way.
In its first year, Paramount+ has proven to be a huge success. What are you most proud of?
It’s been a rollercoaster ride since I started just six weeks before launching the service in the middle of lockdown. Most of the team had never worked together in the office or even met face to face however, the way everyone came together and brought the service to life makes me incredibly proud.
A year on, it sounds a little sappy but I’m increasingly proud of everything the team is doing. From the Vivid drone show, social influencer partnerships, show launch activations, to the latest monster of a brand campaign. I work with a lot of very talented people who continue to go above and beyond to make the brand shine as brightly as possible.
What do you love most about working on Paramount+?
Working for an exciting new streaming service is a great experience in itself. The business is evolving so fast and I’m loving being a part of how it’s all coming together.
What I most love is that every single day is different. Anyone that knows me is aware of my many to-do lists and spreadsheets, I approach every day with a certain structure but the random curve balls that come in daily makes things interesting. Organised chaos is a good way to describe it.
The opportunity to work closely with the international team makes it feel like we really get a say in how we’re bringing things to platform. Again though, the team I work with every day makes it a joy to come to work.
What sets P+ apart from other streaming services?
Unlike most other streaming services, we’ve got such a massive brand legacy behind us. Having the library of brand juggernauts such as MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Showtime, Smithsonian as well new Paramount Originals makes Paramount+ such a great offering in the market. Also totally not biased but our upcoming slate is looking pretty damn good!
What’s your Top 3 favourite shows on P+ since launch?
Yellowjackets, The Offer and Dexter: New Blood.
Finally, we heard a rumour that Rob Rosenberg is one of the singing tap dancers at Paramount+’s birthday party. Can you confirm or deny?
All I’ll say is that he did put his back out recently. Let your mind run wild.
