We get our entrants’ thoughts on leadership, success, and the industry trends that need paying attention to.

Emily McCammon | Publicist

“Working within Paramount ANZ, I admire the fact that there is something for everyone, focusing on diversity of cultures, conversations and thought. Even if one program is not for everyone, it is something for someone. Working on Network 10 programs The Traitors and The Amazing Race Australia, I was thrilled that there was representation for those in the LGBTQIA+ and First Nations communities, as well as for various races from around the world. This was in addition to the representation of different personality types, upbringings and geographic locations – all with their different schools of thought.”

Georgie Farrelly | Brand Partnerships Manager

“A leader throws the handbook out. As everyone in the media world can attest to, this is an industry that is constantly changing and evolving – we never stop learning. It’s what makes the job so interesting and ultimately enjoyable, as no day is the same.”

Georgia Jennings | Sales Executive

“We can’t always have a simple goal. I achieve many. I pride myself on striving for everything for my clients’ benefit, the company, and my team. I do this by asking informed questions; thoughtfully and diligently meeting and exceeding their needs; and being a reliable and trustworthy representative.”

Hannah Hudson | Sales Executive

“Accomplishing diverse representation in media is important to my success, and working for a company that embodies that goal is part of that success. Paramount’s commitment to no diversity no commission, its RAP, on-air celebration of NAIDOC week and internal policies are moving the industry towards a more wholly represented Australia. I’m proud to be working for a company who fights for representation and drives equality.”

Holly Dobson | Group Sales Manager

“A personal passion of mine is being environmentally conscious. Whether that is contributing towards net-zero via transport, the coffee cup I use, the electricity company I elect etc. With the support of Paramount and my team, I am initiating an Environmental Team to work through what sustainability looks like for us.”

Jess Healy | Group Sales Manager

“I decided to start an initiative within the Brisbane media industry to help everyone connect on a more human, and less transactional level. The Bolters Run Club unites the industry every Wednesday morning for a run, jog, or stroll. Dogs are encouraged, cutting deals is not. I am aware of the responsibility I have as a leader to enhance people’s careers, build around the strengths of my team and make the wider industry a more attractive place to be. And I’m not afraid to take risks with out-of-the-box thinking such as an industry running club. Check out what Bolters is all about on our Instagram: @boltersrunclub.”

Joshua Hale | Sales Executive

“Among clients, I facilitate Network 101 sessions for any new starters within my agencies to help them better understand Paramount, the role we have in the industry and how we can best work together moving forward. Feedback from those sessions have always been positive and lead to even stronger relationships. My goal is to obtain as much knowledge about the industry as possible and pass it down to new colleagues to set them up for success, while also advancing my own career towards being a great leader.”

Mitch Robertson | Sales Executive

“The introduction of VOZ measurement has allowed us to see where our audiences sit, but I think what needs further improvement is how can we use this data to more effectively buy media campaigns. Converged trading is a bit of a buzzword in the media landscape at the moment, but I think there is great opportunity in getting this right. An eyeball is an eyeball, let’s make them easier to buy!”

Sophie Monaco | Digital Account Manager

“Without a diverse range of voices and experiences how are we, as an industry, going to grow? Or come up with new and exciting ventures? Media Diversity Australia does a great job in reporting about diversity in media, but does this hold media to account? Where are the bottom-line consequences?”

Tess Fisher | Senior Publicist

“PR is often called one of the most stressful jobs in the world. Practitioners face constant challenges like long hours, tight deadlines, and unrelenting uncertainty, but what I find hardest is when my work is taken for granted.

“Many businesses don’t understand publicity – so I am leading the charge to prove our worth.”

Tess Whitford | Publicist

“Success to me represents an individual or a company that is able to set goals that challenge them and then work relentlessly until those goals are reached. I feel that in order to continue to be successful, we as individuals and organisations need to constantly test ourselves to achieve more and to think of new and innovative processes that challenge the status quo.”
