Spending Time With The Amazing Beau Ryan

June 30, 2020

The new season of The Amazing Race Australia is heading into production. Host Beau Ryan will be back with a brand new batch of contestants, racing each other to win $250,000.

Staying on home soil this time, the 22 contestants will explore the breathtaking beauty and intrepid adventures Australia has to offer. Will our teams scale the Sydney Harbour Bridge? Forage through Kakadu National Park? Count all the churches in Adelaide? There’s no knowing what Aussie adventures await.

Beau took time out from his prepping to answer some questions about the show.

Q: You are back as host of the new season of The Amazing Race Australia. What are you most excited about for the new season?

A: Travelling our country. I’ve been all over the world but still believe we live in the best country on earth.

Q: The new season will take place in Australia. Is that going to make it easier or harder for the contestants?

A: I think it will be just as hard. Australia has some pretty harsh elements; sun, surf, rain and snow all in the same country is something to be excited about. Some of the places we are hitting are extremely remote and will sort the teams out quick smart.

Q: Where are you hoping the new season will take the contestants?

A: I want to go to Broome. I’ve never been, but I’ve always wanted to go. I’m pulling strings to get us there.  It’s far away but looks worth it. The water looks magic and the beaches look perfect.

Q: The Amazing Race is a global success story. What is the show’s main appeal?

A: I love the unpredictability, waking up in different places every day and the fact anyone from any background, race or gender can win. And I love that the show is about patience and persistence, two things I lack.

Q: Do you ever wish you were a contestant rather than the host?

A: Never, ever. I love six-star hotels and business class too much.

Q: What’s tougher: The Amazing Race Australia or a Leichhardt Oval home game?

A: The race. In rugby league you have 12 other team mates on the field with you at all times. You can hide in a team. You can’t hide in The Amazing Race. It’s you and your partner versus the world. I love it.
